Written for teaching a children’s class
Devised 5th July 2011, after teaching a class of 9 and 10 year old children, and wanting to write a dance which had elements of Noeline O’Connor’s “Kingston Flyer” and Tang’s “A Trip to Gatlinberg”. The young dancers were confused with progressions so I sought to write a simple dance for them. Adults find the dance a bit quick.
Music: Any reasonable 4 by 32 J. For the class I used “Pelorus Jack” and asked them to dance it 8 times.
