During Summer School 2013 in New Hall, which since a short time ago is called “Agnes Blackadder Hall”, at 2 o’clock at night, the fire alarm went off, so all had to go outside. An hour later we could go back to our bedrooms.

This inspired me to create this dance, called ‘The Agnes Blackadder Fire Alarm’: The first 8 bars show how all guests rapidly leave the building. The reel-time pousette without hands represents that people are excited and agitated, talking to each other. Then everything slows down, and one wonders if anything will happen. And the Rights and Lefts suggest people are returning to their bedrooms.
