The original description states: With thanks to Brian Forbes of the Birmingham Branch, RSCDS, whose “chain” progression is the best new thing in Scottish country dancing since the Rondel.
However, the Strathspey ‘Ailsa Craig’ and Jig ‘Glen Mor’ from the ‘Birmingham Book’ from 1973 that introduce the ‘Chain Progression’ were written by Eric Forbes, not Brian. (There are no dances known to date written by a Brian Forbes.)
