Is this dance a Reel or Jig? The dance was first published in The Cameo Collection No.1 as a “40 bar Jig”, with “Kingussie Flower” as suggested music, but that is a 40 bar REEL. The same month a new printing of the book names this dance as a Reel. It seems likely that “Jig” was a misprint that was corrected. For details read the extensive discussion on the “Strathspey List” on 26–27 September 2016.
