Originally SCDDB attributed this dance to Hugh A Thurston but according to issue 2228 the deviser was reported as unknown in the original Thistle #16 article - although similar to Thurston’s Rosslyn Castle. It was probably devised around 1962.
The tune was originally given as Old Rosin the Beau but is now corrected to the similarly named, but apparently not identical, Rosin the Bow.
