A few corrections:

  • The dance is currently listed as being a reel. In the book, it is published as either a reel or a strathspey.
  • The cribs list the shoulder passes on 17-24 as being left then right. It is published as being both right shoulder.

In the database, a dance can be either a reel or a strathspey but not both. This is a deliberate design decision based on the observation that, while only very few dances are officially of more than one type, building this into the database would make dealing with the vast majority of dances that have only one type unduly complicated. (Many quick-time dances work as strathspeys even if the dance description doesn’t explicitly say so, and vice versa.) What we usually do for dances that are officially reels and strathspeys is to add a note to the “Extra Info” tab to that effect, which I’ve done just now.

As far as the shoulders are concerned, you’re perfectly right – it’s right shoulders both times (think The Reel of the Royal Scots). I’m referring this issue to Keith to fix.

Diagram corrected. Minicrib also needs to be changed so “cc” box ticked.
