Issue 1105: Apparently impossible movement in 'Campsie Glen'

Description

We tried the strathspey ‘Campsie Glen’ on Wednesday evening for the first time and found that, although bars 9 - 16 stated initially that these bars would be danced as a ‘Bourrel’, the instructions for the end of that movement were not those of the Bourrel, but required 1st and 2nd couples to turn 2H and then into promenade hold, ready to promenade with second corners. This is physically impossible as one of the second corners is engaged in the promenade as a member of the second couple. We have several SCD teachers in our group and none of us could figure out how the movement should end at bar 16 - should we complete the Bourrel progression or should we go with this variation but only 1st couple to turn into promenade hold. The same instructions are shown on MiniCrib, so some clarification is needed please.

On bar 16 2c ends in top place own side, not in promhold, and is ready for the reels. I have added a new crib for this dance. Can someone please check it? The original instructions are correctly reproduced in SDA at at http://www.dancearchives.co.uk/dances/glasgow_assembly/campsie.htm. The Minicrib needs to be corrected.

General comment: If you have problems with a dance, i helps to check all information available on SCDDB. For this dance the SDA link is given, that would have solved your problem. Whenever you have a problem, please DO send in a comment; that helps us improve the database.
