It seems that all available cribs for this beautiful dance show “1/2 fig 8” at bar 9 and again at bar 13. John Drewry states very clearly that 1s and 4s lead out RH through the ends. (The Pilling type diagrams for both figures are the same and I wonder if this is where the problem arose?) Leading out RH, casting then crossing up & down LH is a lovely figure to dance. These cribs are doing us all a great disservice! Come to the Leeds Branch White Rose Festival at Harewood on 8th July to witness this being danced properly (beautifully?) in a massed dancing format. Eric has corrected that in his Crib for the “Flower of the Quern”.
Minicrib and Keith’s diagram are still to do. Thus, I added the CC to the Minicrib team.
I am not sure why this issue was posted about the Canadian Book instead of the dance itself.
