Description

I do not remember submitting any dances to your website though I am aware that I can find them here. I have submitted 12 dances to MiniCribs all under my name and identified them as being part of the Spring Creek Collection. Here are the names of the 12 dances: Greeting Jig; Happy Tenth; Jig For Allison, A; John’s Sabbatical; Judie’s Farewell To Spring Creek; Laughling Heart; Merry Go Round; Muckle Muddle; Rainy Sunday Strathspey; Sylvia Full Of Grace; Thank You Jack; Thursday Night Ladies, The

I can offer no explanation as to how Marjorie McLaughlin’s name became connected to The Spring Creek Collection.

Respectfully,

Marshall McLaughlin

Dear Marshall,

I also do not have an explanation why Marjorie instead of Marshall was entered. Since this is a manual process and both given name started with an M, probably the wrong one was chosen.

I hope I corrected them correctly now (publisher of the book as well as devisor for those dances where Marjorie was stated. Please check.

Thanks for pointing this out!

Cheers, Heiko

The most likely explanation is that we came across that publication in a context where only the dance author’s surname was given (my money would be on something like MiniCribs), and whoever entered the dances assumed without further checking that “McLaughlin” meant “Marjorie McLaughlin”. This is very embarrassing but that sort of thing happens sometimes. Thank you, Marshall, for calling the problem in so courteously and Heiko for fixing it very rapidly. It’s great to work with such a community.
