Description

There are 2 separate tunes named Campsie Glen in Dance Data: Campsie Glen (Traditional), item 12082 (a strathspey), and Campsie Glen (Frank Reid), item 241 (a jig). Campsie Glen (Frank Reid) has an incorrect publication entry, it’s listed as Kerr’s Merry Melodies 3 but that source is actually for Campsie Glen (Traditional). (I don’t have publication info for Frank Reid’s tune.) In addition, Lord Selkirk recommended music is given as Campsie Glen (Frank Reid), it should be Campsie Glen (Traditional).

Thanks for the clear information.

I changed the tune entry in Merry Melodies 3 to the traditional tune instead of the Frank Reid tune and also updated the tune for the dance Lord Selkirk.

The Reid Campsie Glen tune was also given as one of the tunes in the recording of Lord Selkirk by Scotch Measure (https://my.strathspey.org/dd/recording/9457/). I have therefore changed that to the traditional one. Steve, can you confirm that is also correct? Cheers, Murrough.
