Extra notes for The Clavie,

“Burning the Clavie is a fire festival held annually at Burghead on January 11th. The Clavie, made from half a tar barrel and fixed to a six foot spike, is lit then carried through the streets of the town before being taken to a nearby hilltop from which the burning embers are scattered.”

The words for the dance also include the instructions that - At the end of the first time through, the 1st couple continue into the right hand turn to begin their 2nd turn without first returning to the sidelines Similarly, at the end of the repeat, the 1st couple continue into a right hand turn and cast to 4th place as the new 1st couple turn right hand and cast.
