I agree with you. I do have the original publication and it also says 1st couple end on their own side (2nd place) while corners end on opposite sides. Keiths diagram is the same.

Since the crib was contributed by another user, the best way to get it corrected or clarified is to use the “Submit Comment” button on the crib page itself (http://my.strathspey.org/dd/dance/15047/#cribs). That will sent an email to the crib author (who is not one of the SCDDB editors). You can mention the URL of this issue (http://my.strathspey.org/dd/issue/1389/).

The “Submit Correction/Addition” button is the right one to use for just about anything else except cribs. Or if you do not get a response from the crib author using “Submit Comment”.

Cheers, Murrough.

The crib was added by Zoltan Gräff. Can someone please contact him so he can make the correction. Eric

Zoltán Gräff’s email address should be in his SCDDB entry.

A little after making the initial response I thought of doing that, found Zoltans email address(es) and sent him a mail. No reply yet.

I found his username attached to the crib entry on the dance edit page. I guessed who it was from having seen things by him before. Is there a better way than guesswork to work back from a username to the person? I managed to confirm my guess from the issue list where both real name, username and email address are all shown together. However I noticed the email address on his Person entry differs from that on the issues he submitted so sent the mail to both of them.

The main problem with Zoltán is probably, that his name in SCDDB is written the official way as Zoltán Gräff. Thus, one cannot find him with “Zoltan” (‘a’ not ‘á’) or using “Graeff” or “Graff” (‘ae’ or ‘a’ not ‘ä’). While the different writing would cause a significant difference in pronounciation in Hungarian, it is hard to type on an English keyboard. Unfortunately there is alias available for person names (different to dance names).

One way to find the user name is trying to find an issue by that person, or an anwser to one: In the “Admin” menu click “issue overview”. Then narrow down the search by entering (parts of) the name you are looking for, e.g. “zolt” into the filter field (top right), and click on one (or several) of the issues (numbers) listed.

Maybe that helps.

Cheers, Heiko

Thanks Heiko. In fact I had already followed almost exactly what you suggested, including getting autocompletion on “zolt”. I thought I had seen an email from Anselm a while back about matching accented characters even if people typed unaccented versions, but presumably its still on the to do list.

Meanwhile Zoltán responded to my private email and has updated his crib.
