Description

In your description of this figure you note, “which is necessary to achieve Precedence”. Indeed, the instruction for Bars 3-4 include, " 1st Man preceding 2nd Man". The Video illustrations accompanying your description of this figure show 2nd Lady and 2nd Man preceding 1st Lady and 1st Man, respectively. I realise that you have little control of the quality of contributions to your site but, I believe that contradictions to the instructions are very unhelpful to say the least. Indeed, These “illustrations” may be responsible for teachers belonging to The Toronto Branch/Association of the R.S.C.D.S. insisting that 2nd Lady and 2nd Man precede 1st Lady and 1st Man respectively. Is Precedence a thing of the past? Perhaps you could tighten the description of the movements in Bars 1-2 to include, “1st Lady preceding 2nd Lady”.

Best Wishes to you and your very informative website! RF

Disposition changed to »Ignored« (previously »New«)

Hello Ross, Thanks for the comment, but it looks like you clicked the “Submit Correction/Addition” button when looking at the page for the person Reuben Freemantle, not for the page of the dance including the Espagnole whose video seems to have the wrong precedence. As far as I can see none of Reuben’s dances have videos so it can’t be one of his dances.

As your text gave no other hint of which dance it was I have to mark this comment as “Ignored”. But do please try again, starting from the Overview page of the dance whose video you were commenting on. Then we will be able to see what you are talking about. Cheers, Murrough.
