Description

Peter Dixon mentioned to me that some dances in the Vallin Collection 2 (https://my.strathspey.org/dd/publication/997/) were not linked to the corresponding recordings in the album Vallin Suite 2 (https://my.strathspey.org/dd/album/904/).

Investigating a bit I see that the dances in the publication Vallin Collection 2 were added first, then when the album Vallin Suite 2 was added, some of the dances were incorrectly added as duplicates presumably because of having slightly different names:
(a) Dance: The Everchanging Medley, Recordings: The Everchanging Medley 1 & The Everchanging Medley 2;
(b) Dance: The Drakensberg Stroll, Recording: The Drackensberg Stroll (with spurious extra “c”);
© Dance: Echoes of Inverneil, Recording: Echoes of Inverneill (with extra or missing “l”).

I will try and fix at least (a) and (b) - after rereading the section on deleting duplicates in Erics very useful Notes for Editors (which I keep a copy of at my.strathspey.org/u/murrough/docs/NotesForEditors180115.pdf).

I presume © is a suitable case for a (mis)spelling alias. However I am not sure which one is the right spelling here. Does someone else know?

I have now removed all the duplicates, relinked the recordings to the original dance entries and made an spelling alias for Echoes of Inverneill which does seem to be spelled in two different ways in book and CD. (Thanks to Roland for supplying a scan of the book).
