Dear Barbara,

as you posted yourself in another issue (1496) slightly later, “Midsummer Common” is a suited recording for the dance (and as that you find the link in the recordings tab on the dance’s entry), but the tune Benrinnes is not used in any recording for the dances of Book 49.

Thus, both issues (1495+1496) are ignored…

Still thanks to point that link out even though it was there already. Heiko

Chris Ronald suggested the RSCDS recording for “Midsummer Common” as a suitable track to use for the dance before it had been published in Book 52. Since the RSCDS has a policy of not reusing tunes, Ian Muir (the Society’s Music Director) picked “Benrinnes”, which was published alongside the dance in Book 52. There is an RSCDS CD for Book 52; it’s just that nobody seems to have found the time to enter it into the database.

Somebody has brought me the CD from Summerschool, but I do not have it in hand yet, because I still have to meet that person. As soon as I have it, I am going to add the CD (including Slytherin House ;) to SCDDB.

Cheers, Heiko
