I have a description which says it is devised by Mimi Baldwin for Ronald Lewis’ 80th birthday, but it’s not neccessarily on original (see email).

Can’t find an original source, but found and added a video recorded at Kuckucksnest. Why not ask there for an original description? Eric

Asking at the Kuckucksnest will not be helpful as Carola usually has no idea what is taught in class (she has other things to worry about during a workshop).

From the video it seems that Malcolm Brown is teaching. Malcolm is conveniently also a database editor. I’m going to assign the issue to him because, being the teacher, he would presumably have an original description (wink, wink, nudge, nudge).

Malcolm has sent me a PDF of the original dance description, and corrected gaps and errors on SCDDB. Eric

The description of the dance has a hand-written note that the tune is “Vallin collection 3 track 3”. That is a dance book, and it is indeed a dance R 40 (“Who’s Leading Who”), but SCDDB has no album or recording of that name. To what album (CD) can that reference be pointing? Eric

This dance has in scddb the remommended tune The Rose Tree. Seeing the written text vallin 3 track 3…might this not have meant to be a reference to the recorded music to be used for the reverend…on the cd: The Vallin Suite 3, track 13, instead of 3 , as he 13th dance The Pittsburgh Twister has as lead tune also The Rose Tree?

I just read issue 292 which explains where the tune The Rose Tree comes from: the devisor names it as tune for The Reverend … Together with track 13 - also a 40 bar reel - with the rose tree as first recommended tune, can the issue now being regarded as fully resolved? Greetings, Wanda
