Issue 1662: Music Type and Music Clip incompatible
- Object
- Brian's Bairns (Recording)
- Submitter
- Iain Boyd
- Assigned to

- Priority
- Normal
- Disposition
- Fixed
- Description
-
The database entry states that this music is a reel.
However, the music clip is a jig!
The band playing the music clip is the same as that given for the track.
Hence, either the music type has been entered incorrectly or the wrong music clip has been associated with the database entry.

Hmmm. Of the three tunes listed for that track only one (Behind the Bush in the Garden) occurs in other recording - all of which are jigs.
The extra info for the dance (http://my.strathspey.org/dd/dance/9407/#extrainfo) does indeed say the dance is a jig, so I assume the description of the recording is wrong.

Okay. This MUST be an error, possible even wrong on the original cover (but can’t find it anywhere). The information, that it is a “reel” is copied over and over from the one wrong source. It just can’t be. The dance, the lead tune, other recordings - all jigs. So I changed it from reel to jig and added a note, and I think that should suffice.
