Normally one word of a dance in the quick search turns up numerous dances with that word. However the following word or phrases turned up different dances “Celebration” only turned up the one dance Celebration. “Celebration Strathspey” only turned up one dance called The Celebration Strathspey. “The Celebration Strathspey” turned up 2 different dances called The Celebration Strathspey. It appears the Quick Search is inconsistent on this one and may need to be investigated.

The quick search function differentiates between “exact matches” and “approximate matches”. Exact matches are those that match the search term(s) exactly, while in approximate matches the search terms form only part of the dance (tune, album, …) title, or the search terms include an article such as “The” or “A” and the approximate match doesn’t. Exact and approximate matches are listed separately.
Therefore:

Searching for “Celebration” locates one dance which is actually called “Celebration” and 81 dances that have the word “Celebration” somewhere in their title (or that have an alternate title that contains the word “Celebration”, such as “Farewell to the Prairies”).

Searching for “Celebration Strathspey” locates one dance which is called “Celebration Strathspey” (no definite article) exactly as well as three more approximate matches – two dances called “The Celebration Strathspey” and one called “The Ruby Celebration Strathspey”.

Searching for “The Celebration Strathspey” returns the two dances called “The Celebration Strathspey” as exact matches and the two other dances from the previous bullet item as approximate matches.
As far as I can see the search function works exactly as advertised.
