This dance identifies the following for Gang The Same gate: “Also known as “Gang Bang at the Gate” (unofficial), “Gang the same gait” (unofficial).”
I’m unaware of who could possibly perceive that the phrase “Gang Bang at the Gate” could possibly be acceptable language. I’m certainly unaware of anyone ever referring to this dance by such a crude and crass name, but I would certainly be quick to correct them and remind them that this is social dancing and people are expected to be respectful.
I also don’t particularly care if in some day-gone-by, the phrase wasn’t referring to what the it does today - although I doubt that. That this crude slang makes its way to the SCDDB is really not acceptable - I personally couldn’t care less if it is referred to as this somewhere in the world - it certainly shouldn’t be noted on the SCDDB.

Thanks for pointing this out. Fully agree. Such an offensive name should not be used by anyone. Removed.
I have added a note explaining that “Gate” is related to the Scandinavian “Gata” = “Street”. Eric
