Hi. A local dance leader scheduled Speedy Life in Paris for an upcoming dance, and while putting together music (and a band;-) for the event, we noticed that the listings for the dance refer to it as a reel, but the suggested tune (by the same name) is a jig. So maybe the entries for it should be changed to say “jig”. Either that, or the wrong tune is being shown for the title.

I have (from Keith Rose) a scan of the relevant page of the Paris book where the dance is described as a “32-bar reel” with “Music by Pascaline Latour”. So the discrepancy is at the source.
Maybe someone who has contacts with the Paris group could inquire?

This issue is well commented on in the Extra Info section of the dance. Meanwhile, the dance is defo a reel plus a new tune has been written by Pascaline Latour which is referenced online already. This issue can be closed.
