Description

My copy of the instructions has the title lines: No.5 - COILSFIELD HOUSE A 32 Bar Strathspey for 4 Couples 9th September 1967 My impression is that these are the original instructions, but I am not sure.

The last line reads: “29 - 32 1st couple cross over giving right hand and dance down to 4th place, while 3rd couple half tum with the right hand and lead up to 2nd place”. This is obviously an error; 1c and 3c would collide. My guess is that 1c should cast off behind own lines. Currently (3 Feb 2020) Iain Boyd is looking for other sources of the instructions. Does anyone of the editors have more information? Eric

Iain Boyd has confirmed : in the proper instructions 1c casts down during [29-32]. The error appeared In the Howick Club’s first collection of Alec’s dances, which say for [29-32] 1c leads down instead of cast. Fixed. Eric
