Hi there, I’ve just got hold of my own hardcopy of this John Drewry book via TAC in Canada, and spotted some very minor differences in your otherwise perfect summary. a) Christies’ Strathspey - apostrophe at the end - multiple Christies apparently b) Oooh Chihuahua! - one more o in Oooh c) You list each of 3 dances as strathspeys:- Premium Bonds, The Round Hay of Six, and The Weakest Link. JD’s text says these can be danced as strathspeys, or as S+R medleys, and two of these also as a reel. You may be choosing not to cover such options. Otherwise: For medleys JD recommends Premium Bonds as 2x32S+2x32R or 4x32S+4x32R as opposed to 4x32S or 4x32R, The Round Hay of Six as 1x64S+1x64R as opposed to 1x64S, and The Weakest Link as just 1x32S+1x32R as opposed to 2x32S or 2x32R (i.e. 2x32 only in any case).

Thanks to Adrian for finding these differences.
I have corrected the names for Christies’ Strathspey and Oooh Chihuahua!
Will make duplicate “Medley” versions of those three dances when I have time.
Can someone tell me which two may also be danced as Reels?

I now have the book. Drewry’s notes on these three dances are now included as “Extra Info”, and the quicktime steps have been added. We need to decide on hw to handle these “multiple types”. Eric

Anselm prefers that the “Reel” and Medley" alternatives should be mentioned in “Extra Info” only, and not be added to the database as searchable elements. That would require changes to SCDDB software that are excessive compared to the benefits of being able to find these rare dances when searching for Reels. Fixed. Eric
