Description

This dance from Robert ‘Bob’ M Campbell is described in his 1976 book Glasgow Assembly describes the formation The Shuttle in b17-24. It is like a half poussette in Strathspey time. Is this worth adding to the ‘Formation’ section? Stephen

After a rush of new formations that no one else ever used, Anselm decreed that to be added as a new formation in the database it should appear in at least three dances by at least two different devisers. The idea is that the list of formations should be limited to those with some proven traction. The downside is that its not easy to determine this.

So your challenge Stephen, if you choose to accept it, is to see if Bob Campbell’s Shuttle figure is used anywhere else.

For the moment I will just put it on my private list of interesting one-off figures I have come across (or been told about) over the years. Iain Boyd is also interested in new figures and variations so might be able to help.
