The comment on the video implies that that the dance was not danced as written, in fact Drewry wrote that the 1’s cast to the bottom on each repetition “or it may become boring.” He also suggest that the dance may be preformed by “2,3, 4, 5, or even 6 couples” but that “the set should always be one couple larger than the number of active couples.”

Thanks. The scan of the instructions we have mostly cuts off the last line with comment about it becoming boring but now I know what it says I can just make it out. Anyway I updated the video comment.
