Information supplied by Eileen Oxlade:
Laggan Bay was written in late 1987 or early 1988 for Eileen Stuart’s wedding to Neil Oxlade in June 1988. Eileen was Secretary at that time of St. John’s Scottish Country Dancing Class at Wokingham and Bill Forbes taught there, as well as at Maidenhead. The tune was written for Eileen by Ray Milbourne. Eileen walked down the aisle to this tune, played by Ann Pfeiffer’s mother (Ann is a member of the Maidenhead club).
