Given that John based his dances primarily on tunes and their “style”, Alison Mitchell and I decided that we will change the dance type from “Reel” to “Jig”, as it might have been a flaw from the very beginning. The tune named “The Drunken Parson” is a jig, all recordings are too, so John Mitchell most likely did an initial typo/mistake in his edition which we will now correct from Version 1.02 of Book 2 on. Have asked Keith to amend his diagram.
