Description

At the bottom of the page in my 1960s vintage Book 22 is the notation “Devised by Lord Craigmyle while in India”.

This would make it Thomas Shaw, 3rd Baron Craigmyle KStJ, 1923 – 1998. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Shaw,_3rd_Baron_Craigmyle)

He succeeded his father as Baron Craigmyle in 1944, and held the title until his death in 1998, so he’s the person who would be referred to as Lord Craigmyle (or just Craigmyle), at the time of publication.

He was posted to India in the late 1940s (where he met his future wife), and was back in England by the mid 1950s (where he was married in 1955).

Thanks. I added your text as extra info for “Craigmyle”. I see there is also something about him under the entry for his dance.
