Hello Moira.

We do have a spot either for recommended tune, or for recordings recommended for dances. But this would normally be for suggestions made by the deviser of the dance. Are these recordings recommended by Blair Gerrie? The database e-cribs team does not (yet) have a copy of the Delightful Diversion book to check. We were just sent the basic information about the book (names and types of dances and their devisers) by Tristan Gerrie a year ago.

Incidentally you write “Delightful Devisor” but that actually seems to be a dance by Tristan Gerrie (though we have it spelled Deviser), whereas Blair Gerrie has a reel “The Delightful Diversion” (in the same book). If we add music recommendations we would want to do it for the right one!

Incidentally I see you submitted a crib for The Delightful Deviser. If you would like it to be formatted like other cribs it needs to follow Anselm’s “ACE Markdown” syntax. There is some help on this at https://my.strathspey.org/u/murrough/docs/ContributedCribs/ (basically you need 1-8 on one line, then on the next line start the crib text after an initial colon, ie “: 1st, 2nd, etc”).

Please forgive my errors. Yes the dance is The delightful Deviser with an e and it comes from the book Delightful Diversion. The tunes i was trying to add are those recommended by Blaire Gerrie in the full instructions from the book

Thanks for the clarifications. I have linked The Delightful Deviser (by Tristan Gerrie) with Fiddling in the Pinewoods; and Hugs and Kisses (by Blair Gerrie) with The Royal Visit.

NB the “recommended music” field for dances refers to individual tunes, not a recording which usually comprises a set of tunes.
