- Description

Douglas Henderson wrote “The Tartan Waistcoat” and published it in Scottish Dance Archives (September 1972, No. 2). He said: “Recommended tune:- Ann Caithness (composed Bert Brown, arranged Nan Main).” I wrote to Laird Brown, son of Bobby Brown, and asked whether Bobby was “Bert” and had written “Ann Caithness”. Laird said that his father had NOT written the tune and that he knew nothing about Bert Brown. Please correct the attribution for “Ann Caithness”. Should you want a copy of my correspondence with Laird Brown, I can forward it to you. Paul Maloney.
