I have a copy of the original publication (Dunsmuir Dances) and the notes say: “Devised for Linnea Johnson on the occasion of her birthday. A dear friend, beautiful dancer and delightful partner, she has also been the manager of the San Fransisco class for many years. This dance pays homage to two of ther favourite dances: Sugar Candie and General Stuart’s Reel. A huge thank you to Tom Winter for his suggestion to have 1st couple active during the chain progression. What a nice change.”
