Note by the deviser in TacTalk of jan. 1986: on [17-32] the corners set »as written«; they do not split the setting as is customary in »J.B. Milne«.
Devised in May 1967 in New Zealand by Bob Campbell of Canada for Jean Conway, Elma See, Lorraine Dyall, and Margaret Gray of the Newcastle (Australia) Colleges Strathspey and Reel Club.
Espagnole: both W lead RHJ to M side, cross and cast back to exchanged places while Men cross to W side, lead RHJ back to M side crossing to exchanged places ; all turn P EH (2,1)
3c+4c cross on 2nd chord(1,2,3x,4x). This dance has top/bottom symmetry
Canon. A new top couple starts dancing every 16 bars, and each continues dancing until they reach their original positions, so that the dance starts from the top, and ends from the top. 1c face out after the chord.
On bar 48 the order will be 4,5,3x,1,2.
On bar 64 the order will be 5,1,4x,2,3.
On bar 80 the order will be 1,2,5x,3,4 and 1c and 2c stop.
On bar 96 the order will be 1,2,3,4,5, all stopped.
On 2nd chord, 3c+4c change sides (to 1,2,3x,4x)
Note: Cosh explicitly tells 1c to pass Lsh in [9-24]; however the Rsh pass is quite common, and nicknamed »Mairi's Divorce«.
