From Sheffield RSCDS Scottish Dancing (Facebook) 7 August 2023 · RSCDS Sheffield wish to mark the passing of Pat Dixon, peacefully, yesterday evening, with her family beside her. Pat started dancing with the Leeds University group in 1949 whilst she was working as a teacher in the area. Then life happened. Pat started dancing again in 1984 - country, highland and ladies step, and was a frequent visitor to summer school. Pat gained her teachers certificate in 1989. Pat taught at RSCDS Doncaster, RSCDS Retford, and for the Rotherham Scottish Dancers. She trained teams for the ASCDS and White Rose festivals, organised countless socials, and was a teacher training mentor. Scottish country dancing took Pat round the world and she made friends everywhere she went. But more than that, Pat was our friend, and we will miss her laughter and sense of mischief - on and off the dance floor! We send love to Susan Shanley, Philip Matthews and families.
