Priscilla was born in Framingham, MA, on December 10, 1929 as Priscilla Margaretta Maurer. She was raised in Margaretville, NY. She graduated from MIT in 1951. She was first married to Milton Raymond and then in 1962 Peter Burrage. She was working for IBM in Poughkeepsie, NY, and Essex, VT, from which she retired in 1991.

In Scottish country dancing she became a teacher and taught in Burlington, Middlebury and elsewhere for about 40 years. Furthermore, she devised several dozen dances, many of them were published in her own books (together with Sylvia Miskoe) Kitchen Capers (1992) and Cross-Country Capers (1996) and other collections of dances.

Priscilla M. Burrage of Essex passed away on June 22, 2009, after fighting cancer for several years.
