The inside cover says:

HAMISH IAIN McMOUSE: An unpretentious mouse of humble origin, who lived his whole life at Pinewoods, where he died in 1964. Following his death he was given, under peculiar circumstances, to Maurice Whitby, who not only kept him, but was responsible for his peripatetic wanderings. These have taken him overseas in addition to extensive travel in the U.S.A. and Canada. Hamish’s travels, when not directly instigated by Maurice, have generally returned him “home” by willing cohorts. Now, 25 years later, Hamish returns to Pinewoods, the scene of his life.

This small book of dances is lovingly dedicated to our small friend upon his retirement in thanksgiving for the fun and friendship he has engendered over the years.

The profits from the sale of this book will go to Pinewoods.
