According to Aad Boode (the deviser of the dance), the tune was also composed by Bill Clement also in 2002 (same year as the dance itself).

In October 1927, the Transvaal Scottish was affiliated to The Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment). Bill Clement (the composer of the dance’s tune) served in The Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) from May 1942 to April 1947; he joined the 10th Battalion Pipe Band in January 1943 and was acting Pipe-Major from January 1946. He joined the Atholl Highlanders in October 1947. (see dance entry for more information)
