- Teviot Bridge (RSCDS Book 5 No.1) starts with 1st couple turning with the right hand two and a half times, but in that dance, they do not move down.
- The reels of three are similar to those in Thomas Glovers Reel.
- During the Winter Break in Aviemore, Alice said she was tired of people spinning so much in dances that they spoiled the phrasing. George Meikle suggested that they needed a spin doctor and so this dance was born. (Is the spin doctor also an obstetrician?) (Strangely, when they were told that spinning was permissible, the dancers did not spin.)
