Three couples arranged in a square set.

[Here a figure shows the set. 1st and 3rd couples are placed as in a normal four-couple square set, 2nd lady is in the 2nd couple’s place, 2nd Man in the 4th couple’s place.]

Bars 1–8 2nd lady and 1st man, 2nd and 3rd men turn right hands to original places. 2nd and 3rd ladies, 2nd man and 1st lady turn left hands to original places

9–16 2nd couple set, half turn right hands to face 3rd couple, 2’s and 3’s dance half rights and lefts to change places. 3rd couple omits polite turn at the end to finish facing out

17–24 3rd man dances right hands across with 2nd couple (in 3rd place), 3rd lany dances right hands across with 1st couple. 3rd couple pass right shoulder to dance right hands across, 3rd man with first couple and 3rd lady with 2nd couple. Finish in the “square” formation, 3rd man in 2nd place, 3rd lady in 4th place.

25–28 All half circle to the left. 3rd couple must control the half circle so that everybody finishes exactly half way, in new positions.

29–32 All three couples advance and retire. Finish 2nd couple in 1st place, 3rd lady in 2nd place, 1st couple in 3rd place and 3rd man in 4th place
