1–2

1st and 4th couples cross giving right hands as 2nd and 3rd couples set.

3–6

1st and 4th couples cast up or down one place face their partners and dance towards them pulling back right shoulder to end back to back with partners (1st and 4th men facing the ladies’ side, and 1St and 4th ladies facing the mens’ side with near hands joined), as 2nd and 3rd couples, taking two hands, turn moving up or down one place (3rd couple ends in 4th place, 2nd couple ends in 1st place on own sides).

7–8

All set (2nd and 3rd couples face their partners, 1st and 4th couples face the sidelines).

Sleepwalking figure [16 bars]:

9–10

1st and 4th couples face the corner nearest them and change places with them giving the convenient hand (left hands for 1st man and 4th lady with 2nd lady and 3rd man, right for the others).

11–12

2nd and 3rd couples in the middle circle halfway around to the left, as 1st and 4th couples dance towards their partners then dance up or down towards the center of the set. (To finish the circle 2nd and 3rd couples pull back right shoulder to end on the sidelines facing out)

13–14

2nd and 3rd couples cast one place up or down to end in the corner position nearest them as 1st and 4th couples circle half way around to the left and pull back right shoulders to end facing corners.

15–16

All set facing diagonally.

17–24

Repeat bars 9–16, but on the last 2 bars of the phrase, instead of setting to corners 1st and 4th couples dance out to sidelines on opposite sides pulling back right shoulder (1st couple ends in 2nd place, 4th couple ends in 3rd place).

25–28

1st and 4th couples dance half rights and lefts.

29–32

1st and 4th couples taking two hands turn twice around.
