Dianne Wilson had some help in devising this dance, and thanks Jan Lauer, Janet Olsen, Shirley Saturensky and class members of The Orange County Branch.

This dance was inspired by a workshop held June 2–4, 2006, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. (New Mexico is “The Land of Enchantment” - Dianne Wilson)

Note: La Girandole figure is borrowed from Pat Clark’s Strathspey, devised by Jim Rae. La Girandole is French for a rotating display or a piece of jewelry having a large stone surrounded by smaller drops. La Girandole above is danced ‘à droite’: with right hand turns. It may also be danced ‘à gauche’: with left hand turns, in which case after the setting, 1st man and 2nd woman turn left hands while 1st woman and 2nd man cast right about into left hands across and left hand half turns. La Girandole may also be danced in reel or jig time.
