Explanation of the figure “R&L for 5 dancers”. The corners dance a standard R&L figure, but the centre dancer dances out on a diagonal, links up with a crossing pair of dancers to dance a half Tpot with them and finish outside the set. He or she then dances back across the set in parallel with this pair to repeat the half Tpot with them on the opposite side of the set., again finishing outside the set. Note that if asked to join in on the first 2 bars of the figure, the centre dancer can dance back into the centre on bars 7&8.
