The deviser explains: “For the dancers at the 7th Chemnitz SCD Weekend in November, 2017, which took place, for the first time, at the Strobel-Mühle, near Pockau-Lengefeld, in the remote mountains of Saxony. The Strobel-Mühle (Strobel Mill) is a residential training centre operated by the CVJM (YMCA for our Anglophone friends). I had been invited to teach the not-quite-beginners/intermediate class and had originally planned to teach The Byron Strathspey in the Saturday afternoon session, but then didn’t get around to explaining reels of three during the morning session, so desperate action was called for – hence this dance! I’m pleased to say that it was reasonably well received.”
