Note: Bars 1–24 have a fugue with one subject: as danced by the 1s this comprises turns RH and then LH, then partners chasing each other down the M side to new places on opposite sides, and then to below the bottom of the set, own sides.

1–8

1s turn once RH; then turn once LH while the 3s turn RH

9–12

1M (1L following) casts 2 places and crosses to 3rd place opp. sides WHILE 3L (3M following) casts up 2 places and crosses to 1st place opp. sides AND 2s turn once RH

13–16

1L (1M following) casts 1 place and crosses to below bottom of set own sides facing each other WHILE 3s reverse their track of Bars 9–12 back to own places (i.e. 3M starts by casting, 3L follows) AND 2s turn once LH AND 4s turn once RH

17–24

1s turn RH moving up to 3rd places own sides (2s & 3s step up); then 3s & 1s dance LH across once round ending on sides, WHILE 2s & 4s dance halfway clockwise around them to end places opp. sides
