The recommended music was changed from “Welcome to Witney” to “Captain Mackintosh”, as recorded for the Miscellanies by Muriel Johnstone, as it is better music and more readily available. The dance was written for the Spring Social, held in the first week in September each year, by the Helensburgh Club, Helensburgh is the most northerly suburb of Wollongong, NSW.
Notes: The movement “Dance to Corners and Set” is danced as described in the Courage Reel by John Drewry in the Canadian Book of dances.
Devised by Brian Charlton in April, 1991 and first danced at the Helensburgh Scottish Country Dancing Club Spring Social, September, 1991. Helensburgh is the most northerly suburb of Wollongong, NSW, Australia.
