“Having spent a fortnight climbing in the Cuillins in the mid-fifties, the return visit some forty years later brought back happy memories. This dance is a two couple variation on the excellent dance ‘Broadford Bay’, but be warned it is strenuous, particularly when executed as a four couple set, as each couple dances three times.”

Amongst the several versions of the description, some claim that this is a “6×32 bar Reel – a 2-couple dance in a 4-couple set”. However, even with 1s and 3s starting simultaneously, the 1st and 2nd couples get three turns as the dancing couple, but 3rd and 4th couples get just one, which is most unfair. It makes most sense to do the dance six times through in a three-couple set, or else eight times through in a four-couple set.
