From the dance notes: “The dance was devised on the occasion of the 5th Anniversary of the ‘Kamagari Scottish Festival’ in Japan, 1994. Whilst swimming in the sea off Kamagari Island I noticed the sea glowing around me as I made contact with phosphorescent phytoplankton and the shoreline sparkling as the microscopic organisms were washed up on the sand.”
