We have copies of some pages of the (booklet ? ) the tartan track. Not yet found a complete set of pages alas Frontpage: the title plus Set of dances (reel nig & strathspey) Music composed by Beryl s. Johnstone Dances devised by anna campbell holden To commemorate the commo wealth games scotland 1970
Tne dances incorporate the ideas of the Tartan Track, the Cross of St. Andrews and the Right Hand of Fellowship. P4: Dance no. 1 reel P5 dance no 1 continued P.10 dance no 2 jig P.11 dance no 3 strathspey P12 dance no 3 continued
NB the dances are really called numbers 1, ,2 , 3 and not The tartan track reel tec.

Thanks. I added a little extra info. We do have scans of the dances. Although the inside pages do just have titles like “No. 1 Reel” I am inclined to agree with whoever entered the dances in giving them a longer, more distinctive name.

Hi Murrough, how about going for rather canon main names like “Dance No. 1 (Reel)”, “Dance No. 2 (Jig)”, “Dance No. 3 (Strathspey)” and add “our” names as alias, which would still improve the searchability? Every dance could get a little note about the unofficial title we came up with. IMHO it is better to stick with the printed names as much as is possible.

Hi Viktor, yes you are probably right. Im happy if you do that. We do normally try and reflect the names as entered.
