Note: on the original says »RH«, but »BH« is widely used.
Note by Drewry: On [65-68] and [69-72] the W use RH twice. This can be avoided by substituting: [65-68] »All set to P | change places passing Rsh, (M face out)«
1M and 3rd M change places before start. All bow to dancer opposite.
(note by Drewry: This is really two successive 3c dances of 32 bars, the figures of bars 9-24 being similar.
Note: In »corners pass and turn«, 1c normally pass Rsh on ; for this dance the instructions explicitly specify Lsh
(Hint: In all ½ turns and ½Reels face dancer of own sex).
5c (dancing couple) stands facing 1c in centre of square set, numbered clw as usual.
after 5 times through, 5c finish in the middle, all other C have moved one place clw
Espagnole: both W lead RHJ to M side, cross and cast back to exchanged places while Men cross to W side, lead RHJ back to M side crossing to exchanged places ; all turn P EH (2,1)
Note: This crib follows the current way of dancing. In the original instructions, the promenade [25-32] is cclw. Bill Hamilton said in 'hindsight' this promenade should be clw, but preferred not to change the official instructions. Bill disapproved of another variant, where the circle [121-128] is continued to the R only.
