Four dancers, numbered 1,2,3,4 clw, stand in a square facing a fifth dancer in the middle, who faces the gap between numbers 1 and 4
5c (dancing couple) stands facing 1c in centre of square set, numbered clw as usual.
after 5 times through, 5c finish in the middle, all other C have moved one place clw

"This dance can be used to introduce the 3-couple allemande in reel time and as an introduction to dancing a medley - 32 bar strathspey - 32 bar reel, each couple dancing once through in strathspey time and then in reel time for their second turn." Also danced as medley; as S for 1c and 2c, as Reel for 3c and 4c.

Repeat from new positions with Ladies dancing reel of 4 & Ladies setting in the Bourrel
The set is now inverted ; repeat using the bottom (3c) as new top. In 6 times through each couple dances once as 1c from »each hemisphere«.
