Person Bert Brown 10896

From issue 356 by Paul Maloney: Douglas Henderson wrote “The Tartan Waistcoat” and published it in Scottish Dance Archives (September 1972, No. 2). He said: “Recommended tune:- Ann Caithness (composed Bert Brown, arranged Nan Main).” I wrote to Laird Brown, son of Bobby Brown, and asked whether Bobby was “Bert” and had written “Ann Caithness”. Laird said that his father had NOT written the tune and that he knew nothing about Bert Brown.

This “Bert Brown” has been added as a new person on the basis of this information; nothing more is known about him yet. Eric Ferguson, 13-11-16
