The current 6-part version was composed by Donald Cameron under the name Lord Breadalbane’s March, in 1856, according to pipetunes.ca, referencing Dr William Donaldson’s 2005 book, Pipers. “Ceol na Fidhle” gives it to Angus Mackay.
In any case this is obviously a version of an old and very popular tune, Stumpie, which goes back all the way to Robert Burns and beyond.
